Dear Trinity family and friends,
On several occasions folks have asked me about Trinity’s history.
Though it would take a large book to share everything that has
happened in the past one hundred years, I would like to take the next
few weeks and highlight the journey this congregation has traveled.
Today’s Trinity is the combination of two separate churches and many
people who have believed in the vision to reach, touch and bless our
generation for Jesus Christ!
“For both churches to be revitalized, their ministries needed to
change. These churches had a centuries-old heritage that should not be
lost. The churches were at a crossroads and key turning point. Another
chapter in the life of the churches was closing. Could another be
written for the future?
In 1992 members from both churches discussed the possibility of two
congregations, Trinity United Church of Christ and First Christian
Church, merging to combine their resources and become one body of
believers to share the faith of the Lord. Since its founding, Trinity
United Church of Christ exhibited a pattern of steady growth. The
congregation grew and expanded during much of the twentieth century.
However, just a few streets away, First Christian Church had been
experiencing some growth. The pastor knocked on doors in the
neighborhood inviting families to attend. He encouraged the members to
welcome visitors. As a result for evangelism, the church became open
to new people.”

Our class for guest and visitors will begin this weekend. Trinity 101
is a four-week session, which begins with the background of Trinity to
eventually lead each person to how you can use your gift for the Lord
in the Body of Christ. Are you interested in discovering your
spiritual gift? Come to Trinity 101 for the next four Sundays. It will
open doors in your life you may have never known.
6. This week in worship
Mother’s Day and Pentecost all in one Sunday!
A special gift will be given to all mothers and grandmothers. Plus, we
will have breakfast prepared from 9:00-10:15am. Bring your
momther and enjoy the morning together.
This weekend is Pentecost Sunday! The birthday of the church, the day
the Holy Spirit came in fullness to the disciples. I will couple this
important day with the final message on the book of Titus. The book of
the Acts of the Apostles, some say, should have been named the Acts of
the Holy Spirit, for without the Holy Spirit the followers Jesus could
have never had the boldness to share the faith of the Resurrected
Christ with their world.
Titus was one of those followers of Jesus.
So who was Titus? He was a person groomed for leadership by Paul
himself.
The book of Titus is one of the great books of the Bible. It is packed
with good teaching. It has a nice mixture of doctrinal truth and a
call to conduct ourselves in such a way that people see the gospel
lived in our actions. Read Titus 3 for this weeks's message titled,
"What's Next for You?"
7. K.O.O.L. continues next week, from 6:30-8:00pm, Tuesday
We will be learning about Elijah. K.O.O.L. is a family ministry for
children and adults.
I look forward to being with you this weekend in worship!
In Christ’s love,
Cletus
